Little Rico is a bustling hub in the heart of Hudson, built from the ground up with love, resilience, and a deep commitment to both nourishment and community. Founded in 2019 by Angelica Hernandez, Little Rico began as a humble cold-pressed juice business, sold at farmers markets for two years while Angelica juggled multiple jobs—bartending, caregiving, and cleaning Airbnbs—to fund her dream.

Inspired by her Puerto Rican and Dominican roots and growing up in Queens, Angelica’s vision for Little Rico blends her childhood memories of the vibrant bodegas and kitchens she grew up in, infused with the warmth and flavors of the carribean. In 2021, Angelica took a leap of faith, transforming a former café space into Little Rico: a cozy, thriving juice café and wellness bodega. Drawing on her holistic nutrition certification earned in 2014, Angelica crafted a nourishing menu, entirely gluten-free. it reflects her commitment to wellness, while using high-quality, as-local-as-possible ingredients that bring flavor, warmth and color to every plate.

Running a small business is not without its difficulties, and Angelica knows this firsthand. Through sheer grit, she learned every aspect of running a café from scratch, often working late into the night and juggling the many hats that come with small business ownership. But despite the long hours and constant challenges, she continues to manage and operate Little Rico daily with unwavering dedication. What began as a one-woman endeavor has now grown into a team of 12 who work together to ensure that Little Rico is not just a café, but a welcoming, vibrant space for the community. Here, the focus is on joy, nourishment, and belonging, where everyone—whether a first-time visitor or a longtime regular—feels seen, valued, and cared for.
